I was born in the suburbs of New Jersey in 1977. This is an environment based on irony. The pre-fab houses, strip malls, and diners were icons in the landscape of my childhood. I've always felt a faint sense of terror about these places, maybe because of their falseness. It was in this world that I learned to daydream about hidden lives and dramatic moments that lie just underneath the surface. With my work I'm looking to investigate the small, banal moments in our lives. I'm interested in communicating the psychological space one is in while alone and idle, or doing an everyday task.
